Halloween is here!

One of my favorite things about Halloween isn't the candy (150 calories in two tootsie rolls) the costumes (which seem to be getting sluttier each year, am I right?) or the haunted houses ($30 a ticket? no thanks!). It's the decorating! I absolutely LOVE pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and any kind of spooky decorations! I love driving by people's houses and seeing all the graveyards, ghosts, and cobwebs. The more decorations, the better!
Unfortunately, Steve has put a hold on my Halloween decorating spending, partly because we are taking a big trip this Christmas and need to save, but mostly because there are a total of 9 families in our neighborhood that have kids, most of which go to the Stake trunk-or-treat, which means that no one is around to enjoy our decorations. I was able to persuade him into letting me buy some pumpkins, and he even decorated them with me! They are now sitting in front of our house, and I can't help but giggle everytime I see them!
This year I decided to buy a bunch of the little mini $.89 pumpkins and draw faces on the, with black markings. They look like baby jack-o-lanterns and I think it's the cutest. They add a little bit of fun to the spookiness of the big pumpkins! Steve's originally had a knife sticking out of it's head, but we decided that might be a little too much. Also, my spaghetti brains and ketchup blood ideas were also vetoed. Maybe next year!
Mine is on the left, Steve's on the right.
I am excited for tomorrow! I doubt we will have many trick-or-treaters around, but we still have a big bowl of candy waiting for any who decide to show up!

St. George!

We went on an AWESOME trip with our lovely friends Jessica and Colby! So much fun! My laptop is not working, and I have yet to download photoshop onto Steve's, so I don't want to post anything yet, but here's one that seriously doesn't need photoshop it's so amazing!
We had a blast though! Went to the temple, watched some great movies, went to this GORGEOUS lake (where I got incredibly sunburned) and just had a lot of fun!

Em's Restaurant

I went out to lunch today with a few ladies in my ward to the delicious Em's Restaurant! It was so cute, delicious, and cozy! Also, a very short drive from my house and probably a 15 minute walk! They had a goat cheese salad that looked amazing, so I definitely plan on taking Daisy there when she comes to visit next. I had a hummus sandwich, with avocado and sun-dried tomato and roasted red bell peppers. So all of my favorites in a sandwich. It was super cute inside too, quite small but cozy. I took home one of the menus, and some of the dinners look delicious. Maybe I will have Steve take me! Donna K, who is in my ward, is leaving for Finland with her husband for a year and a half, so it was a goodbye lunch for her. Very fun! Although the other women were teasing me because I am younger than one of their grandchildren. Oh dear. That's the joy of living in a rich neighborhood, though. The only people who can afford it are super old! Luckily there are some younger couples, like us, who are living in their grandparent's/parent's house. A new couple just moved into the neighborhood, Rachel and Cody I think, and they seem like a really nice couple!

We are going to St. George for the weekend with our friends Jessica and Colby. I'm really excited because, first of all, it'll be nice to get away from Salt Lake for a weekend, and also we have all sorts of fun things planned out! Four-wheeling, fishing, boardgames, the theatre... It'll be quite a fun trip! I will post pictures when we get back!

So I joined a gym...

I actually joined a gym! And let me tell you... it's kicking my butt! I did circuit training today, and I could barely walk up the two flights of stairs to my car afterwards! I'm really excited about it though, it's an awesome gym, really clean and friendly, and all the equipment is brand new because they recently remodeled! So I'm pretty pumped about that! I'm trying to lose some weight but I mostly want to regain strength in my arms and legs, so the circuit training is perfect for that since it targets almost every muscle group. It was incredibly fun, and my gym membership comes with a free guest pass, so anytime I come to the gym I can bring Steve with me. I think that's going to be the hardest part! Hopefully I'll start a weekly routine. At $20 a month you really can't go wrong!

New blog!

I've wanted to start this for a while, and I am going to! It's been quite a fun week. I found this amazing bug outside! I was nannying the girls and it was out front, so I told them to make it stay where it was while I grabbed my camera. It's a gorgeous thing, isn't it?!

We had the most beautiful sunset the other day, just deep oranges and gorgeous gorgeous blue and purple skies. This picture doesn't quite do it justice, but I was driving so I couldn't do much more!

I also got to hang out with my nephew. He is literally the cutest thing ever, and spent the whole time laughing, giggling, and talking away! He hasn't quite got the hang of words yet, but it's not for lack of trying! He's hilarious when he walks around, he really is a toddler as he toddles place to place, not quite in a straight line! He walks into all sorts of things and just laughs it off. It really is adorable and doesn't help my baby fever at all! We went to the library, which he LOVED, and hung out with the girls I nanny, which he ALSO loved, because they gave him oodles of attention! And he really does love attention! He's adorable! I could barely get him to stand still for a photo, though!

It's been getting really cold, quite quickly, so we ended the weekend with delicious hot chocolate, Doctor Who, and matching sweatpants. We really are the Will and Kate of Salt Lake!
